Meet Matt and Sandy

Matt Rieder

Hi, Matt here.

I’ve been a physical therapist for fifteen years and I love it. It’s so satisfying to help people get back to what they like to do, be it working in the garden, going for a morning walk, running twenty miles a week, or hitting the gym every morning.

I attended undergrad at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina and graduated with a bachelor’s of science in biochemistry in 2001. After that I joined the Army where I served as a Medical Service Corps officer in Hawaii and Iraq. The best part of my time in the Army was meeting Sandy on Oahu and convincing her to marry me.

After separating from the army as a Captain, I graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2008 as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Since then, I have worked in hospital, outpatient, and home health settings where I have treated a broad spectrum of conditions including Parkinson’s, joint replacements, stroke, vertigo, sports injuries, back and neck pain, and many other common orthopedic and neurological ailments.

In my free time I love to run, climb with my daughter at Stone climbing gym, watch my son play trombone and piano, work out, write science fiction novels, and scuba dive for giant fossilized megalodon shark teeth.

Sandy Rieder

Hi, this is Sandy. I graduated in 1999 from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a Bachelors in Nursing. I started my nursing career in the hospital seeing medical/surgical, cardiac and oncology patients. Upon moving to St. Augustine in 2005 I worked as a hospice nurse. I took a hiatus in 2009 when I had my son Owen and soon after had my daughter Olivia in 2011.

For the past 10 years I have worked locally as a home health nurse seeing patients in their homes or facilities. My nursing experience has impressed upon me the importance of preventative medicine which led me to pursue wellness coaching.  Nurses are in the perfect position to provide much needed education, support and guidance that is lacking in our current healthcare system.

My clients describe me as kind, calm, non-judgmental and a good listener. I take great pride in serving my clients with a safe place that allows them to become the best version of themselves.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, sending cards, walking, time with family, supporting our teachers and military and sitting on my front porch watching butterflies in the flower garden.
